Wegner's Granulomatosis and Homeopathic treatment

Introduction
Wegner's Granulomatosis is characterized by necrotizing vasculitis and granulomatous inflammation which affects primarily upper and lower respiratory tract and the kidneys. It is an uncommon disorder that causes inflammation in blood vessels (vasculitis), which restricts blood flow to various organs. The restricted blood flow to these organs can damage them.

Cause: The cause of Wegner's Granulomatosis is unknown, but most studies suggest a hypersensitivity reaction. Wegener's Granulomatosis acts like an infection, but no one has found an infectious agent that causes the disease. It may involve an overactive immune system response to an allergic reaction.

Signs and Symptoms:
. The disease occurs twice as often in males as in females. The initial signs and symptoms can occur anywhere but usually are seen in upper or lower respiratory tract.
. It involves the upper respiratory tract. Sinusitis, hoarseness of voice.
. Constant runny nose (rhinorrhea)
. Nosebleeds
. Ear infections (otitis media)
. Pulmonary disease may present with asymptomatic pulmonary infiltrates or with: Cough,
. Coughing up blood (hemoptysis)
. Shortness of breath (Dyspnoea)
. Pleuritis.
. General ill feeling (malaise)
. Complications of granulomatous inflammation can cause mucosal ulceration and nasal septal perforation with a saddle nose.
. Loss of appetite
. Joint aches and swelling
. Skin sores
. Redness of eyes
. Double or decreased vision
. Fever
. Weakness and fatigue
. Subglottic stenosis occurs in 16% adults and 48% children.
. Alveolar hemorrhage may occur which may be life threatening.
. Renal disease with glomerulonephritis .There may be presence of microscopic haematuria.
For some people, the disease limits itself to the respiratory tract and doesn't involve the kidneys.

Complications:
Besides your upper and lower respiratory tracts, Wegener's Granulomatosis may affect multiple organs, including your skin, eyes, ears, kidneys, spinal cord and heart. With early diagnosis and appropriate treatment, you're likely to recover from Wegener's granulomatosis.
Diagnosis:
. Blood tests: Antineutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibodies (ANCA) appear in the blood of 80 percent to 95 percent of people with active Wegener's granulomatosis but their presence alone doesn't confirm that you have the disease.
. Urine tests. Urine tests determine whether the disease is affecting your kidneys.
. Chest X-ray. This test shows cavities or masses in your lungs
. Biopsy of affected tissue. Biopsy is done by your doctor by removing tissue from your nasal passages, airways or lungs to confirm or rule out the presence of both vasculitis and granulomas.
